Instead of a wild animal mindlessly thrashing its antlers to shed velvet and mark territory, this white-tailed buck is cast as a calculated, high-society vandal who treats tree bark like a consumable evening accessory. Looking out with absolute, unblinking innocence, the buck is outfitted in a sharp, formal black suit jacket, a crisp white tuxedo shirt with metallic studs, and an olive-green bow tie. Peering from behind a young tree trunk that has been thoroughly denuded of its protective bark, this satirical portrait captures the exact comedic audacity of local wildlife destroying expensive landscape specimens while looking completely dressed for an upscale gala.
