The painting was sparked by watching a resident chipmunk stubbornly harvest a single red petal and drag its prize down thorny briars, clearly plotting a return for more blooms. Reimagined as an alpine assault, the rodent tackles steep canes using technical gear and sheer determination, treating the prized rose garden as an uncharted summit ripe for repeated raids.
Chipmunk Climber is an original 8×8 inch acrylic painting on wood panel, created in the artist’s private studio in Pittsburgh, Western Pennsylvania. The artwork utilizes glazes and layers to achieve the depth of oil paint, capturing fine wildlife detail against vivid botanical foliage.
