Tails From The Studio:
Fine Art America Review
To ease the hesitation of art lovers looking to purchase specialized merchandise, the Bloomin Fool recently launched a secret quality-assurance mission. A close friend posed as an everyday customer to order a wide variety of custom-printed items directly through our fulfillment partner, Fine Art America. In the photograph above, the Bloomin Fool evaluates the first arrival in the studio, closely inspecting the color accuracy and print durability of the Rabbit Eating Tulips 1.0 coffee mug. The overarching goal of the mission was simple: determine how the digital files hold up when transferred to everyday consumer goods.
The undercover order yielded fantastic results across multiple categories, providing an organic timeline of discoveries as each product was unboxed. For instance, inspecting the Rabbit Eating Tulips 1.0 notebook demonstrated, as seen in the image above, sharp design resolution on a highly durable cover, while the subsequent pillow revealed excellent fabric texture and precise print alignment, as seen in the image below.
The inspection continued with the wearable and functional items. Handling the Rabbit Eating Tulips 1.0 tote confirmed both fabric strength and high color fidelity under studio lighting, which paired perfectly with the premium T-shirt, noted specifically for its print softness and clear details.
To test alternative fine art substrates beyond textiles, Deer Santa Eating Holly 1.0 was ordered as a durable wood print. Holding the finished piece in the studio, as shown below, confirmed that the natural wood substrate successfully captures the fine details and rich depth of the original acrylic glazes.
