Twisted Garden Tails: Episode One —
Groundhog Day
The illusion of control shatters right on the back deck. In this premier short film, A Twisted Garden Tail: Episode One—Groundhog Day, the Bloomin Fool faces his ultimate backyard nemesis. While the artist believes he is the sole architect of his Western Pennsylvania domain, he quickly learns a harsh truth: Mother Nature doesn’t care about blueprints, briefs, or human design.
The episode follows the artist going about a pristine day of gardening, meticulously setting an elegant outdoor table for a luncheon with friends. The sophisticated ambiance is instantly ruined when he spots a notorious local groundhog claiming the deck. Boldly lounging in a lawn chair, this brazen invader is sporting dark sunglasses, vibrant swimming trunks, and yellow clogs while casually eating a prized stem of purple loosestrife.
Treating the surrounding Pittsburgh landscape like an all-you-can-eat buffet, the rodent leaves the standard rules of gardening completely dismantled. Outmatched by wildlife and ignored by nature, the artist gets very sad and retreats from the deck to the safety of his private studio. There, he discovers his only true retaliation is creative warfare. This episode documents the exact moment the shovel is traded for a paintbrush, turning a frustrating garden invasion into the satirical masterpiece Groundhog in Sunglasses.
